#Tubelight

Tubelight: When a bulb is expected to perform like LED. Tubelight is a good movie. In fact it is much better than Salman's few masala entertainers. Yes, it has few issues like weak script, slower pace and Salman looked overaged too but it is certainly not as bad as it is reviewed by few cinepandits and mouth publicity going around. People are just getting carried away with the harsh reviews. I think the real reason why it is not doing well is our expectations. Let's accept the fact that we were not ready for it. Fans expected Salman to do what he is best at. They wanted to see him playing larger than life characters, flaunting his muscles and delivering cheesy lines. Instead they see him crying, struggling and getting bullied by entire town. They expected him to loose his shirt and he appeared in sweaters throughout the movie. They expected him to play pranks and make faces but he tried to act and emote. They expected him to be a superman and he chose to play a character of an innocent child-man who believed in his 'yakeen ki taaqat' and Gandhism. Salman certainly have taken the biggest risk of his life by choosing a character opposite to his image and age. The risk should have been paid off. The movie sincerely try to highlight impact of war on nation and soldier families and director Kabir Khan deserves standing ovation for that. Salman did well in emotional and comedy scenes. His relationship with little Goohu is certainly a highlight of the movie. Among other performances, Child actor Martin Ray Tangu as Goohu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Narayan are outstanding. Om Puri and Yashpal Sharma supported well as Banne Chacha and Major Rajbir respectively. The movie also scores full marks on camera work and locations. Among songs, 'Sajan Radio' plays in your mind long time even after leaving the theatre. The movie disappoints on its screenplay an editing. War scenes are lengthy and climax is predictable. Sohail Khan fails to emote and Shahrukh Khan's cameo offers nothing beyond few whistles on his entry. Overall, it is a good movie and you will surely like it if you see it as normal movie and not as 'the salman khan' product. Enjoy it as any other Bollywood movie. Let's allow Salman to experiment and accept him in his new avtaars even if it is something like Tubelight. With current results, I doubt if Salman would take such risk again. But his efforts in and as 'Tubelight' certainly deserve better results. Rating: 3/5 #Tubelight #Bollywood #reviews #Salman
